The gold medal of the Edelhof (the golden wheat ear) in 1997 was the first in a long row of awards.
Internationation Wine & Spirit Competion
In July 2010 we wone 2 medals with Single Malt Selection J.H. (Silver, Best of Class) and Special Rye Malt "Nougat" J.H. (Bronze) at the International Wine & Spirit Competion in the category "Whiskies worldwide".
We achieved with our five submitted products three gold medals and two silver medals a result that had not happened before. Again proof of the excellent quality of our products.
We also received a number of international awards for the originality and distinctive quality of our whisky range. We were particularly thrilled to collect an award from the St Andrew Association in Scotland.
At the award winning ceremony of the Agricultural Project Initiative, the Waldviertler Roggenhof was awarded the first price in the category“Innovative enterprises” for it’s achievement as first Whisky distillery Austria’s and second price in the category Products.
Christoph Wagner, Austria’s well known gourmet and food connoisseur wrote in “Profil”: There is not need to travel to Scotland to taste good whisky; it is already available in the Waldviertler Roggenhof.
In the listing of the wine and spirit GAULT MILLAU 2004 we are amongst the 12 best distilleries Austria’s and Europe’s - a good testimony to the quality of our products.
The award giving ceremony of Destillata took place on 20 March 2004 in Heiligenkreuz.
Jim Murray, a renowned Whisky connoisseur and expert paid us a visit on 27 October 2002 and here are just two quotes from his Whisky Bibles 2005 and 2006 “Congratulations to all concerned for a delicious job well done” and “This is right there with some of those great casks I nosed some years back.”
Michael Jackson and David Broom reviewed our range whisky for the magazine “Whisky” and found all the brands excellent.
Also the publisher of the Whisky lexicon, Walter Schober judged our whisky as excellent
We are now known in the “World of Whisky” and we are very proud that our whiskies so are well received.
